A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

Memorial Day
This day is not supposed to be the unofficial start of Summer.
This day is not supposed to be an occasion for sales events at retail stores.
This day is supposed to be about one thing: Honoring the memories of those veterans who are no longer with us.
As you go about your day today, whether you're at the beach, the lake, or having a cookout with friends and family, please take a minute to remember the men and women whose lives were taken from them so that our freedom and our nation would continue to survive.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
I have to go to someone else for the words that fail me on this day.
ReplyDelete"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
-For The Fallen, Laurence Binyon 1914
Why I survived and some I know didn't, I'll never know. I try not to dwell on it too much, there's enough dark spots in my psyche.
But let us also remember the veterans who died to enrich Haliburton and GE, Raytheon and General Dynamics. For that describes every soldier who has died in every war this nation has fought since 1945, none of which were fought to defend America or its freedoms, none of which had anything to do with ensuring the survival of this nation.
ReplyDeleteJohn Kerry once mused "how do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?" The answer, of course, was "Forward, MARCH!". Because there are no mistakes, only profits for the military-industrial complex.
Do I sound bitter, much?
