Do You Have a Spare 80 Minutes?
Which you can see in 480p!
Yes, there are some commercials. Tango Sierra, just watch the movie.
(If you're a pilot and the first 3:05 doesn't bring tears to your eyes, then I don't know you.)

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
Sadly, only streamable in the USA, we furriners are not alowed to watch :-(
ReplyDeleteStu, here is the opening sequence. The rest of the movie is on YouTube, as well, but not in as high a quality as Hulu has it.
ReplyDeleteOr, you can always do what I did years ago: Buy the DVD.
The first 3:05 didn't get me, but the discussion about 1st solo did.
ReplyDeleteI've been aware of VNY since the very earliest of my aviation career. It was already the busiest GA airport in the mid '60s, although by '66-'67, it had been supplanted by the tsunami of flight training at OPF (Opa-Locka, FL), which in total operations was even busier than ORD for a period. That's where and when I did my flight training. My instructor told me on our first flight, "if you can learn to fly out of here, you can fly out of anywhere." And he was right.
That rush of training abated in a short time, however, and VNY reclaimed its crown.
That was an 80 minutes well spent. Thanks.
