I don't know if anything will come of the Occupy Wall Street protests.
But if anything does come of them, much of the credit will have to go to the NYPD. For it was the NYPD's tendency to overreact at the drop of a hat that brought the protests world-wide recognition.
The larger point that the criminal justice system has done zip point shit to hold the banksters accountable for trashing the economy while arresting those who protest against the banksters so far seems to be widely ignored. Part of the reason for that is that there is no such thing as an independent media left in this country. They are all part of conglomerates that are deeply in bed with the banksters.
Imagine that Al Capone and the other gangsters of the 1920s owned newspapers and radio stations and you will have some idea of what things are like today.
