If you work for some large companies in Illinois, the state is letting some large companies keep the taxes that the employees think that they are paying to the state.
So the taxes that you think are going to fund things like police and roads and libraries and so on are being pocketed by your employer. Which means that everyone else is carrying the burden of those costs.
The only possible way that I know of to get around this would be to submit a W-4 form to your employer with enough deductions that you would have no income tax withheld. Then you're going to have to pay all of your estimated income taxes to the state and to the Feds at lest every three months. If the state then wants to pay the employer that money itself, they can, but at least you won't be paying taxes to your boss to employ you.
Whether that is even legal, well, I don't do tax law.
If the state is going to bribe companies to not relocate, they can at least have the balls to do it outright. Forcing the employees to be unwitting bagmen is fucking evil.
But hey, that's Illinois for you.

The "job creators" seem to have infinite creativity when it comes of thinking up ways to transfer money from working people & the public treasury into their own pockets.
