Hot Enough for You Guys on the Right?

I ask that question because last winter, when it was snowing to beat the band, I found no shortage of conservative bloggers chortling, in essence: "It's snowing again! Take that, AlGore!"

But they seem to have all fallen silent in the last couple of weeks.
The "dangerous" heat wave baking the central United States is expected to extend its reach eastward in the coming week, and ultimately cover most of the eastern part of the country, the National Weather Service said Monday.
Maybe we should ask Dubya II Rick Perry:
A record drought is forcing Texas cattle ranchers to send their cows to slaughter because it's too costly to keep buying feed for herds finding little forage in parched pastures.

They'll probably now say that "the weather of a few days or a month doesn't prove that global warming is real." Yet they were more than willing to say that one or two snowstorms proved otherwise.

    Humm, weather runs on energy. Keep putting more energy (heat) and CO2 into the system and what happens.. Gets hotter, and colder. Yes, colder as the system runs on differentials and when you add energy the system (weather in general) gets more energetic.

    The whole global warming thing doesn't mean it will all be a desert, it means the patterns are changing and becoming more extreme.

    I used to respond to those "Global warming? Cold right here!" jokes with a simple request to also provide weather reports for every other place on earth, all the way through the current year.

    I got no satisfaction in pointing out their stupidity. Not on that subject or any other, so I gave up going to conservabot sites. Even trolling was no longer fun.

    There's a certain delicious irony that it's supposed to be hotter in Dallas and DC than here in Vegas -- where, by the way, normal late July temps are often over 110.

    But according to Rush Limpbough, this heat wave is all a government conspiracy. Next thing ya know, Limpy's gonna claim Obama has a secret weather machine causing the heat :).
