When the Levee Blows

The Army Corps of Engineers is going to blow up a levee along the Mississippi River. They're going to do it tonight. Missouri sued to stop the demolition, but lost.

The river has reached a new record for flood stage height. The Corps is going to blow up the levee to try to save Cairo, IL. The flooding will flood over 200 square miles of Missouri farmland.

  1. I was going to leave a smart assed comment but the irony just shut my mouth.

  2. You can't imagine the misery this has created. And the irony really is Cairo, Illinois may STILL get flooded.

Falls right into that old Vietnam "We had to destroy the village to save it" type of mentality.

    Idiots...
