Beaver

Why, what were you thinking?

The background noise was from some goddamn Beechcraft that started up several seconds before I began recording.

  1. Hmm. If I saw a Beaver like that, my windsock wouldn't be so limp.

Truthfully? I thought it was going to be some funny little thing involving a beaver suddenly running across the runway. What did you think I was thinking? :-)

  3. The very first word that came to my mind was "DeHavilland", really, but then I've been fascinated by aircraft for over 6 decades. Longer than any other fascination.

  4. I too was thinking "DeHavilland", of course, given the proprietor of this blog's known propensity for flying machines. Duh!

  5. I get a channel called RFD-TV on the Dish. One of the programs I watch a lot is "R5Sons" an infomercial/reality show about the Rainy Pass Lodge in Alaska. Lots of Beavers (and Norsemen, too) flying in and out of there, plus plain old Skywagons and Skylanes—all on floats.

They have a dirt strip too, which accommodates their Stinson (I think) and is big enough for a Shorts van which they hire to bring big stuff in now and again.

    Love me some Beaver…
