Gullible Much?

There is a bunch of stuff going around the Intertubes about a "Geometric Simplification Act, H.R. 205." As the story goes, Rep. Martha Roby (R-Ala.) is proposing that, as a matter of law, the value of Pi would be defined as 3.0.

Funny story and frankly, it's about what a lot of folks would believe of the Boehner House.

But it's not true. All it takes is for one to go to Thomas.gov and look up the frakking bill. It's not hard to do.

And if you were to do that, you'd learn that H.R. 205 has nothing to do with re-defining the value of Pi. You'd also learn, if you did a search for all Congresses from 1990 on, that there was no bill with the phrase "geometric simplification" in it.

But hey, why let the facts ruin a good story? After all, Republicans never bother with keeping to the facts.

    This is an old story - as the comments to the first link you provided point out, and as I already knew, a bill to do just this was presented in Indiana in 1897.
