The Republican War on Women
So, in Georgia, if a guy mouths off in a bar and two truckers beat the ever loving shit out of him, he's an assault victim. But if Mouthy then goes home and beats on his wife, she's just a "domestic assault accuser."
Because, after all, in the minds of those clowns, women are property and beating up a woman is not much different from beating a mule.
Also, if you don't think that there is a coincidence between this piece of legislative fuckery and the Republicans' push to limit abortion rights to only victims of forcible rape, then I have a bridge to sell to you.

Brilliant post. How have I missed reading your blog for all these years? You're on my blog roll now so I won't miss any more of your bloggy goodness.
ReplyDeleteI did not think that the language of the bill was some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The religious right has been wanting to get a blanket ban on the procedure including pregnancies where the woman's life would be danger not to mention rape and incest. This is just a step in that direction.
