Three Islands of Sanity

California, where the energy extraction companies, the Koch brothers and the Chamber of Commerce were unable to persuade the voters to suspend pollution control laws.

Denver, where a proposition to establish a UFO commission was crushed.

Colorado, where a proposition to effectively outlaw abortion (and, quite possibly, to criminalize miscarriages) suffered a massive defeat, as did a proposition to enrich bail bondsmen.

  1. I live in Colorado. I'm an electrical engineer (the most conservative profession there is, unfortunately, even moreso than economists. Okay maybe not gunnery sergeant, but I dunno.)
A lot of my coworkers have spent the last week looking very pissed because, and I quote one of my coworkers, "Colorado is too centrist." *sigh*
