What Do the NYPD and the KGB Have in Common?

it was a common tactic for the KGB to lock dissidents up in mental hospitals. It is a tool that the NYPD has adopted. In this case, a cop who complained about official misconduct was confined to a mental hospital.

The Village Voice has run a series about the fuckery of the NYPD including forcing cops to lie on arrest reports, arresting people for walking down the sidewalk, and downgrading crime reports in order to make the Compstat statistics look good. In one precinct, a serial rapist was allowed to operate without any real hindrance because the cops kept downgrading the sexual assaults to "criminal trespassing."

The police supervisors who downgraded the reports, including those who knew that they had a serial rapist operating out there, but squashed the reports anyway, were never disciplined.

It is time, once again, to clean up the NYPD.

  1. As a New York resident, I couldn't agree more, Misfit. But what really frightens me is that the NYPD, with al it's problems is one of the better trained and professional forces I've seen in my travels around this country.

  2. It's not the first time I've heard this
kind of crap from NYPD. The problem is not catching them, it's happened. It is actually convicting them on the same level, they seem to have immunity.
Last I checked, on paper that is the courts are not the cops.

    Eck!
