Which is why that sawed-off fascist, Traitor Joe, wants to give the Executive Branch the legal right to shut down the entire Internet any damn time they feel like it.
Because it is too dangerous for those in power when the sheeple have the ability to fact-check them.
It makes sense, though, the politicians would hate the Internet. Without the Internet, George Allen would be one of the senators from Virginia. There's the one Democrat from NC who is in hot water for man-handling a kid who tried to interview him. There was a Republican in NY a few years ago who lost after she was videoed running away from reporters who were asking her what she knew about the Mark Foley page scandal and when she knew it. Harry Reid would have a different challenger. Joe Barton's apology to BP will live forever on YouTube.
Let's face the truth: Every politician out there hates the Internet, because there are so many voices and they can't spin them all. They would rather have a few traditional media outlets that they can manage to spin. So it is no surprise that one of the more vigorous enemies of freedom and liberty, Joe Lieberman, would be pushing this idea of giving the American president the ability to shut down the Internet.

ReplyDeleteThe reason for the first question is the internet was designed to be redundant, multiple paths, and no single point of failure in structure.
A lot of servers and gateways would have to shut down all at once to be even passably effective. That would include radio (including ham radio)
and direct Satellite connections for those that can or have to.
You can't stop the signal..
