MONDAY, June 7 (HealthDay News) -- When compared to teens of the same age, adolescents raised by lesbian parents are doing just fine socially, psychologically and academically, new research finds.Oh, the hateful homophobic bigots on the Right will be having a cow over this one.
Not only that, they have fewer social problems, and less aggressive and rule-breaking behaviors than other teens.
The nearly 20-year study has followed 78 teens since their lesbian mothers were planning their pregnancies, and concluded that these children "demonstrate healthy psychological adjustment." These findings stand in contrast to what some vocal opponents of gay or lesbian parents might have expected.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
I get real confused about the whole argument. They say gay parents will raise gay children. But who raised the gay parents?
ReplyDeleteI remember a VA court case where a grandma was trying to take her lesbian kids by saying she didn't want her grandkid to be a lesbian. The judge told her that she had already raised one lesbian and threw the case out.
It's good to learn that some research supports lesbian moms' abilities to raise children - although it has been kind of a no-brainer to me. When manly men have found themselves in extremis, no one seems to quote them calling for "daddy."
