ReplyDeleteWhat has happened to "The Rule Of Law"? Not just in your country, but all of the developed nations seem to be sliding towards what? Not anarchy, because some laws are still adhered to, not Totalitarism as new government get elected all the time...I just don't understand this 'selective' legalism.
ReplyDeleteI think the system that you are referring to is one of "elected tyrants": Leaders who have virtually dictatorial powers, but are still subject to elections (unless they steal them).

ReplyDeleteA few years ago I was standing in line at a barbecue joint wait to place my order. On the walls were a bunch of autographed photos from various singers and actors praising the grub.
Amongst these was a note on White House letterhead, signed by Rove and also praising the food.
A lady in front of me read the note, then turned to leave without ordering, muttering something about the food at the joint must not be any good because "everything else he's said was lies.
MB, now that's funny.
