Over in the Nation Formerly Known as "Great Britain"
The Crown Prosecutor charged the man. The jury acquitted him.
Of interest was one of the commenters, who noted that in France, the courts viewed being killed or wounded by homeowners as an occupational hazard for burglars. Which is as it should be.

ReplyDeleteI've always felt that any time a burglar or mugger gets killed, it should be ruled as a suicide.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you, home invasions are on the rise here, and anyone entering my home better consider it an "occupational hazard" to be injured. I have a zero tolerance policy...and a shotgun loaded with magnums.
ReplyDeleteIf it is true that France looks upon injury or death for home invaders as an occupational hazard, I may have to re-think my opinions about France.
