Eight Years

That is how long the Federal government has had to address the issue of information sharing among Federal agencies. Failure of government agencies to share information was one of the points raised by the investigations of the 9-11 attacks in 2001. It is now the end of 2009 and the failure of Federal agencies to share intelligence information has been raised in the aftermath of the attempted underwear bombing.

I gather it was far easier for Dick the Torturer to order that people be waterboarded than it was for hm to try and fix the intelligence issues. The Bush Administration had seven years to do something about this, other than stupid shit such as vacuuming everyone's e-mails and listening in on telephone calls of soldiers in Iraq calling home to their loved ones. Trampling on the Constitution is simple, settling bureaucratic turf wars is a Sisyphean task.
