  2. Sad to say, the same also applies to bug reports sent to Apple. "We're the Borg, we don't care, we don't have to" appears to be the predominant thought amongst the big two OS vendors.

    Then there's Linux. You send a bug report to the Linux guys, and if you are connected enough (i.e., your name is in the Linux kernel), you get back a vehement response, "that's not a bug, that's a feature!" I sent in a bug about the XFS system adding random blocks of zeros to files in the event of a system crash. Rather than admit that silently arbitrarily appending zeros to files in the event of a system crash was a problem, the Linux XFS maintainers insisted it wasn't a bug. SIIIIIIIGH! OS developer egos. Got much, you think?
