Bunk

Not just health care reform, but financial reform. Now Paul Volcker is saying we should re-enact Glass-Steagall.

We can either have real and proven financial reform or we can just fiddle around the edges, which is what the financial industry is lobbying for, and then, in less than a decade, it will all spectacularly fall apart again. Only the next collapse will be even more severe and then the bankers may not be able to escape being dragged down to Battery Park to be the guest of honor at a necktie party.

  1. The fucking lobbyists always win. I've about given up. Maybe I can become a lobbyist for senatorial lawlessness: rape, drug use, murder. Or maybe a lobbyist for machine gunning doctors and cops. There'd certainly be no outrage against that. Nothing that matters, anyway. It's all acceptable, as long as I wave a little American flag while I strip mine the poor.
