Old Racist Bastard Says "No" to Sotomayor

Yeah, there's a real shocker:
[Senator Jeff Sessions] said Monday he'll vote against Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, siding with his party's leaders against the judge who's on a fast track to becoming the first Hispanic justice.
Sessions is a real piece of work:
Sessions was heard by several colleagues commenting that he 'used to think they [the KKK] were OK' until he found out some of them were 'pot smokers.'
For a judicial candidate, having Sessions oppose your nomination is a badge of honor. If Sessions thinks any particular candidate would be a good and fair judge, there is probably something really wrong with that candidate.

  1. Sessions probably just did more for the Democratic Party's chances in Texas than any amount of politic'ing by Democratic candidates there could ever do. He just pissed off 90% of people of Hispanic descent by painting organizations they belong to as "un-American" and just generally being a racist asshole about this whole Sotomayor thing, making it all too clear that his main objection to Sotomayor was that she was Hispanic, not any particular policy that she espoused. My congratulations to Senator Sessions in helping consolidate the Republican Party as a regional party of racists, kooks, and fetus fetishists.

  2. Jeff Sessions statement should be worn as a badge of honor by the judge.
