Then pay a little attention to what is going on in the New York State Senate, where a very rich guy named Tom Golisano was able to buy control of the place. His primary ally was one state senator who thought that he wasn't getting enough perks (and who is under investigator) and another state senator who is under indictment for slashing his girlfriend's face with a broken bottle.
Money talks and Golisano's money talks a lot. He just bought himself an entire chamber of government.
