A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

Commemorating Stonewall, Texas Style
There is a very old story about an airline flight arriving in Dallas from JFK; one of the passengers asked a stewardess if Dallas was an hour behind New York City. The stewardess responded that Dallas was 20 years behind New York City.
More like 40 years, it seems.

ReplyDelete"When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always twenty years behind the times."

ReplyDeleteHaving spent a few weeks in FT Dirt during the mid 70s what they did was pretty typical. Also that they're still
ReplyDeletedoing it is unfortunately also typical.
While there I kept my head down and checked 6 often.
The FT Dirt fuzz have nothing to be proud of, ever.

Dallas/Ft. Worth's proximity to Oklahoma makes the region a hotbed of ignorance, racism and hatred.
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in San Antonio for more than 40 years as an out lesbian, I can say with certainty that not all regions of Texas (a huge state) are as intolerant.
At this year's Pride Parade, the mayor will be the grand marshal. The chief of police has designated police liasons to the gay community and we enjoy a cordial relationship with most cops. We have more than 25 gay bars here and one never hears of police raids.
So, please, stop lumping all of Texas together in one horrible chunk. It's inaccurate and often insulting.
I had a relative who lived in east Texas for a number of years. After he moved, I was passing through the state. I called him and asked what was the best thing to see in Texas.
ReplyDeleteHis answer: "The state line."
