Obama's Torturing General
Tell me: Has the press learned anything from their complicity in the Iraq War? I do not see any evidence that they have. Oh, they talk a great game of "we've learned our lesson, we'll try to do better" and boy are they wizards at uncovering some clown of an appointee who didn't file a tax return, but as for continuing to throw sand into any investigation of torture or being complicit in hiding allegations of torture against high-ranking military officers, it's business as usual for the press.
Update: You can read the hagiographic articles in the WaPo and the NY Times. Not a whiff in either one about General McChrystal running his own little black prison in Iraq.

COMMENT MODERATION IS IN EFFECT UFN. This means that if you are an insulting dick, nobody will ever see it.
I wonder, how is it that the MSM can overlook the General's past, when we bloggers have been blogging about it night and day since only minutes after the announcement? And let's not forget the General's complicency in the Tilman coverup either... the General signed a fraudulent Silver Star citation.
ReplyDeleteGeneral McChrystal is one of Rumsfeld's favored butt-boys, when all is said and done, who got his rank because he kissed Rummy's a$$. While war is a nasty business, McChrystal takes nasty to a level that previously was reserved for third world tyrants and former Soviet republics. That might make him the right man for Afghanistan -- or it might make him a common war criminal. The Kossite Messiah has apparently chosen the former interpretation. Sigh.
