In New York, the cops need a warrant to affix a GPS tracking unit to a suspect's vehicle. They cannot do it, as was apparently done in this case, for shits and giggles.
Because the NY Court of Appeals (the top court in the state) relied on New York's constitution to make its ruling, Chief Justice Roberts and his merry band will likely not be able to touch it.
