Paddling Down the Crimea River
There was an article in today's NY Times about how hard it can be to live in New York City (ie, the upper east side of Manhattan) on only $500,00 a year.
Yeah, my heart bleeds for those people. Truly, it does. For there also was an article in the same paper concerning how homeowners around Ft.Meyers, FL are being wiped out by the crash in the housing market with entire neighborhoods slowly falling into decay and desolation.
The pain that the folks at the top of the economic ladder are feeling is real, no doubt. But they, unlike people around this country, are not at risk of having their belongings stacked on the curb by the sheriffs. If they can't live a decent life on $500,000 a year, well, cry me a river.
