It is not beyond reason to suggest that the McCain campaign has become completely unhinged. I have not seen a national political campaign this based on hatred since George Wallace ran for president. Even the coded racism of past GOP presidential campaigns didn' seem to go this far, other than the first Bush's "Willie Horton" despicable campaign.

The McCain campaign is playing with fire. They appeal to worst of human nature. I worry that someone is going to get hurt before it's all over. Their followers are just waiting for the greenlight to go violent.
