More From the "Nation of Whiners"

That's what Phil Gramm, the former Senator (R-Banking Industry) called us. Bush and McCain believe that the foundations of our economy are strong."

Lehman Brothers, a financial firm that dates back to before the Civil War, is now bankrupt. Merril Lynch sold itself to Bank of America in order to stave off a melt-down.

Stock markets in Asia and Europe are taking a beating today
and it will be very interesting to see what happens on Wall Street today.

"Having a strong foundation" means that after your house burns down and you've lost all your possessions, at least the cellar hole is dug and the footings are poured for a new house.

A "tough economy" might be one where John McCain only has six houses to live in.
