We,, it now seems that those of us on the Left, those of us who were excoriated for daring to suggest that the nation's journalists had fallen down on the job in their boot-licking coverage during the run-up to the Iraq, were correct in our assessment.
They failed. They failed because their corporate masters were, to put it bluntly, a bunch of craven cowards who were afraid that the Bush Administration would retaliate against them.
They failed. They didn't just fail at their jobs, they failed their duty to the American people under the Constitution. Their job is to investigate and tell the truth, even if it is truth that people would rather not hear.
After all, if we want to watch is "Pravda on the Potomac" repeating the GOP party line, we can always tune in Fox News.
