Died, apparently from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
I'm a little surprised that the writer of the obit didn't mention Soylent Green. But that's probably not a surprise, because given the detail in this obit in the IHT, the AP even got Heston's age wrong. While he was known for also being president of the National Rifle Association (1998-2003), he was a staunch supporter of civil rights, a free press, and was an opponent of the Vietnam War during times when those positions were not popular ones.
UPDATE: My apologies to the AP. It seems that there is some disagreement whether Mr. Heston was born in 1923 or 1924.
