Olbermann on Clinton and Ferraro

In sorrowful tones, he accuses Clinton of campaigning like a Republican and not caring what damage she does to her own party in pursuit of her own ambition (sort of like George Bush, I suspect).



Olbermann properly points out that when one of Obama's campaign managers called Clinton a "monster," she was gone in a matter of hours. But when Ferraro slammed down the race card, Clinton equivocated.

This trait of loyalty to one's friends in the face of incompetence, malfeasance, or racism, is one of the worst traits of the Bush Administration. Bush stuck with Rumsfeld until it became obvious that the `06 election was a national repudiation of the Rumsfeld strategy. Bush stuck with Heckovajob Brownie until the national joking about it and FEMA's incompetence was too much for even Bush to ignore.

It now seems that Clinton appears to manage in the same sort of "bubble-girl" style now practiced by Bush.

Worse than that, Clinton's campaign is doing its level best to smear feces in the face of the African-American community on the patent assumption that if she is the nominee, they will turn out to vote for her regardless of her use of racist and fear-mongering tactics in order to get to the nomination.

I am not a political expert. But my feeling is that if that is indeed the assumption she is making, she will lose in November, if she even gets the nomination. Clinton is already the most polarizing figure in American politics today (other than Bush), and she will need every Democratic vote available to stem the tide of the Clinton-haters, who will swarm the polls to vote against her, no matter how much Coultergeist and Limpballs screech about "McCain is not one of us."

Yet if she is the nominee, she is sure making it easy for a lot of Democrats to find something else to do on November 4th, other than vote. And for that, should she be the nominee of the Democratic party, I think she is about to guarantee a McCain victory against her in the general election.
