He has always seemed to regard himself as America's Cheerleader, even though an "inspirational" Bush speech is guaranteed to result in a spike in calls to the suicide hotline. So if Bush is willing to say out loud that the economy is weakening, given his tendency to be overly optimistic in public, does that mean we are headed for a really bad recession?
