Betcha There is a "Signing Statement"

"President Bush signed a bill intended to give the public and the news media greater access to information about what the government is doing. The new law toughens the Freedom of Information Act, requiring that agencies respond to requests within 20 days and creating a system for the news media and the public to track the status of their requests."

Yeah, I'll bet he really intends to obey that law. I'll bet that there is some sort of bullshit signing statement attached which says "I don't have to obey this law anytime I don't feel like it and you can't make me, nyah, nyah, so there."

  1. Interestingly, I Googled "bush" "signing statement" to see if there was any official news as to whether the creep had, in fact, added a signing statement to the FOI act he signed last week. Your blog was one of the hits, so I guess there are plenty of us who thought the same thing.
