Rice seeks the support of the Russians for more sanctions against Iran.
It was going to be hard to begin with to persuade the Russians anyway, given their commercial ties to Iran and their suspicion of American motives for siting an ABM system in Europe.
But now it has come out that the Bush Administration has been lying and fear-mongering at least since August, if not for a solid year, it's going to be damn near impossible to persuade the Russians to back Chimpy's moves. Only a fool would now believe anything that the Bush Administration has to say on Iran and the Russians are not fools.
