Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey today sharply rebuffed congressional demands for details about the Justice Department's inquiry into the destruction of CIA interrogation tapes, saying that providing such information would make it appear that the department was "subject to political influence."
"Would appear?" What planet is he living on? It is not the "Justice Department", it is the "Bush Department of Inquisition," or "the Department of Political Persecutions." That the Justice Department in this Administration is subject to political influence is beyond the dispute of anyone who is reality-based.
