One of the iconic images of the 1980s was "the homeless Vietnam veteran." It appears that they will be replaced in the coming decades the "the homeless Iraq War veteran."
This is not solely the fault of the Bush Administration, as this has been a problem for many wars. Yet the Bush Administration, in the time it has left, has a chance to try and change things. Don't hold your breath, though, because if it doesn't have something to do with cutting taxes for the rich or killing people, George Bush isn't interested. He seems to be extremely disinterested when it comes to helping any group that can be described as "less fortunate."
