Helping Soldiers with Disfiguring Wounds

This is not about the Iraq War. This story is about the First World War and the advances in plastic surgery that came about as a result of that war.

This is simply amazing stuff. You should see what was done back then and how the advances in plastic surgery helped some of the veterans with horrific wounds have some semblance of a normal life after the war.

But some of the images may be disturbing to those who don't realize that war is not a clean sport.

  1. Actually, if you look at history, a lot of the medical breakthroughs (especially when it comes to infections and trauma)were due to advancements made during wartime, same as a lot of the advancements in the mechanical fields. People tend to come up with more stuff under pressure.
