Bless Their Souls. Really

There are fewer thing that gladden the soul of an airplane lover more than seeing this:

This Stinson hasn't flown in at least five years and, so far as I know, hasn't been annualled since the spring of `02. Like a lot of people around that airport, I have watched the weeds and vines grow around this airplane and felt the pity of watching a fine flying machine deteriorate.

They hope to get it in good enough shape to fly back to their home airport and then they'll do a full restoration. Fortunately, the airports on both end do not have towers, so if the fuel system is tight, the fabric is OK and the engine runs, they can fly it out. I assume that Plan B is to come back with a couple of trailers and cart it home.

Unless the Chimperor declared martial law, this has been a great day.

    That is wonderful. . I hate seeing an airplane sitting neglected and abandoned.

    I know a guy who tried to buy that airplane a couple years ago. He was not happy to learn that someone else snapped it up.
