We're No. 17!?!

USA is 17th in the ranking of democracies.

Note, if you will, that in the nations ranked as "full democracies", the U.S. is dead last in the civil liberties category.

One guess as to whom I blame for that appalling statistic.

  1. The only people who can be blamed are the citizens; if people don't give a shit who's in office, you get people who shouldn't be there.
    Actually, I don't believe ranking systems like that; it all depends on the criteria used. A person could come up with a ranking system to prove anything they wanted, if they cherry-picked the ranking points the right way.
