Barry Bonds ties Hank Aaron's homerun record.
Really, does anyone give a rat's ass about this? It means about as much as George Bush's diploma from Yale.
Is there anybody out there who seriously doubts that Bonds did steroids? I don't doubt for a picosecond that it takes serious talent and skill to be able to hit a major-league pitch. But when the muscles swinging the bat are the result of Better Living Through Pharmacology, then who really cares? How much of the home run record that Bonds achieves will be due to his efforts and how much will be due to the fine products of BALCO?
And so, who cares if Barry Bonds hits 755 or 800 home runs in his career?
p.s.: Assuming Bonds breaks the record, the home run record has been broken three times during the last 100 years. Each time, it has been during the administration of a supremely inept or corrupt Republican president. Look it up.
