The Other Two Cats

The cat on the top is Gracie. She is ten years old.

The cat under Gracie is Jake. His age is unknown, he may be a little younger.

George and Gracie were kittens of feral mothers and were adopted before they became feral. George was abandoned by his mother when he was very young, he weighed 4oz and he had maggots living in an open wound on his thigh. A friend of mine rescued him, bottle-fed him, and cleaned up the wound. Gracie was maybe ten weeks old, part of a litter of five, and she developed a respiratory infection, which is why she was catchable. Jake was a stray; he had bad dental problems that cost him a lot of teeth. I'm guessing that whoever had him before fed him only canned food.

Jake and Gracie are both very friendly cats, though it takes time for Gracie to warm up to strangers. George has a bent-shitcan attitude about him. A couple times each day he wants to be scratched, but for the rest of the time, he wants to be left along. Unless there is food in it for him.
