Lessons cost $125/hr and that was 17 years ago. I was making $16/hr, so an hour in the Stearman was a day's pay. It was more than I could afford and I only flew it for three hours. The memory of sitting in that open cockpit, flying the airplane and watching the world pass by under its yellow wings is a memory that I will always treasure.
