President Trump on Friday directed government officials to prioritize the resettlement of South Africans of European descent through the U.S. refugee program, which he suspended during his first day in office.
In an executive order, Mr. Trump accused the South African government of discriminating against Afrikaners, an ethnic group in South Africa made up of descendants of European colonists, mostly from the Netherlands, who first arrived there in the 1600s.
If you needed any convincing that The Felon is a racist right down to his bone marrow, well, there's your proof. The Orange Racist stopped the refugee resettlement program before he left his swearing-in because those people were coming in. Refugees with visas and tickets in hand were turned away, including those who lives were at risk for helping our soldiers on the battlefield. They're still waiting.
But the group of rich people who benefitted from living in the most officially racist nation on Earth? The same country that Musk's grandparents went to because Nazi Germany had lost the war, so they couldn't emigrate there? Those folks, Musk's people, get to come in when nobody else can.
Unless the Sámi people take power in Norway, the Afrikaners are likely to be the only refugees that the Fat Old Orage Racist allows into the country. Because most of the other refugees aren't white people.
