Early in the day, the president said he called off the counterattack at the last minute because it would kill 150 people in retaliation for the downing of an unmanned surveillance drone. “We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die,” he tweeted. So this tweet:
But administration officials said Trump was told earlier Thursday how many casualties could occur if a strike on Iran was carried out, and that he had given the green light to prepare for the operation Thursday morning.
is a lie.
I have a hard time believing that Trump was not briefed on possible casualties until a few minutes before the strike was due to be launched.
So instead of looking wise and not willing to authorize a non-proportional strike (killing 150 people over a winged toaster), Trump instead looks like a vacillating fool who is spreading lies to cover up his utter ineptitude.
"Hold on, hold on... could people get hurt from these bombs?"

ReplyDeleteNo, I’m starting to think of John Bolton as Dr. Strangelove...
ReplyDeleteHe started it then he stopped it? This whole thing stinks. I'm calling on anybody with a little humanity left in them to get your fair share of abuse and protest in the streets on The FOURTH OF JULY anywhere and any how. Washington, DC anyone?
ReplyDeleteAnd today, Sunday, the story has changed again. The guy cannot open his yap without spouting a lie.
