Actions Have Consequences; Hacker Edition

The computer activist Lauri Love has lost his appeal against extradition to the US, where he could face up to 99 years in prison for hacking into the computer systems of American missile defence centres and financial institutions.
Of course, there is plenty of butthurt. He's "special".

Whatever. You know what? Fuck him. I've not seen any claims that Love did what his is charged with because of a higher motivation. He wasn't exposing wrongdoing or governmental illegality. He allegedly attacked government computers because some other hacker, who had been arrested for the same kind of shit, offed himself in jail. He was participating in acts of vengeance, not social justice or the common good. He was doing it because he could. Which is not really different from other vandals.

I don't know what the current UK legal standard for an insanity defense, but I'll bet that having Asperger's or depression isn't going to cut it. His extradition for similar crimes was blocked in `12, but the little fuck didn't take that as a warning. He apparently took that as a license to keep fucking with government computer systems.

So yes, fuck him.
