Your Sunday Morning Jet Noise

Russian jets that were sold to Iraq.

They look like Su-25s, both the single-seat and trainer variants.

  1. Could we buy some SU-25's to replace the A-10's that the Air Farce hates? Per Wikipedia, they go for 11 million each, which is vastly cheaper than the F-35.

  3. Old NFO, they pulled some Saddam's old pilots out of retirement to fly the "new" planes, because these are the same jets they flew during Saddam's era. Believe me, the US would very much like to saddle Iraq with F-16's to keep the LockMart production line going, but it takes pilots to fly them, and Iraq has no pilots trained in the F-16.
