Joe Klein finally realizes that the opponents to universal health care are batshit-crazy people who are parroting the spewings of Glenn Beck.
I agree with Steve: The only amazing thing here is that it is taking the Villagers in the media so fucking long to figure this shit out. They are so conditioned into believing that both sides of any question have to be both totally rational and given equal weight that it takes the equivalent of a nuclear weapon to break through their cemented assumptions.
You can bet your ass that if Beck and his fellow bloviators of hate were to start a campaign advoating, for example, the rounding up and killing of (insert name of minority group here), the mainstream press would start discussing the pros and cons of genocide with the assumption that the proponents of mass-murder were wholly rational.
