Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney compared the GOP to Americans fighting the British during the Revolutionary War. "We are the party of the revolutionaries, they [Democrats] are the party of the monarchists," he told the overwhelmingly Republican crowd, saying the Republicans needed to "once again lead the American Revolution."Bzzzt! Wrong!
The Republican Party stood for turning the presidency into a position held by an elected tyrant. Many of the things that the GOP and the Bush Administration stood for were identical to those things which caused the Colonials to take up arms against the British. You need only run through the list of grievances contained in the Declaration of Independence to see that.
The Republican Party is the party of an unchecked and unhindered Executive, which is what the Colonials fought against. Mittens is trying to re-write history; do not let him get away with it.
Oh, and to you tea-baggers, note that when it came to taxation, this was the grievance that the Continental Congress cited:
For imposing Taxes on us without our ConsentYou might want to tattoo that on the inside of Michele Bachmann's eyelids.
i think there are pictures of naked rush limbaugh inside the eyelids of bachmann
