Burn Atlanta to the Ground (Again)
Oh, sorry. Wrong Georgia.
When I was in high school, one of the stories we had to read was a Checkov short story that was set in Georgia. The publisher gave the region another name because Americans were presumed to be too stupid to understand that there was another Georgia inside the Soviet Union.
Given the way that the Russian Army conducts wars (overwhelming force and massive brutality), I can't see this war being a long one. Many in Russia are bitter at the loss of what they regard as their outer provinces, a war to retake one of them may be very popular.

ReplyDeleteThe movie "The Madness of King George" was called "The Madness of King George III" outside the States. The III was removed for our benefit, lest we think it was a sequel.
If the "Madness of King George" came out now, most people would assume that it was a Michael; Moore flick about Dubya the Inepter.
