DeleteI haven't gotten enough to say if its horizontal tube boiler or vertical tube boiler. I do suspect its vertical and the tank in front of that is the water tank. The firebox is under the driver position at the rear.

Did more digging and its a vertical fire tube boiler. It can still run
ReplyDeletedry or have a pressure piping failure and bad stuff happens but no crown sheet as in horizontal fire tube designs, the fire and water
are both at the bottom.
Safer, no just has a different set of things to beware of.
