Well, I don't know about David Duke, but Don Benton is in charge of the Selective Service after getting kicked out of his EPA post, Teresa Manning will oversee title X at HHS, and Charmaine Yoest will be Asst. Sec. for Public Affairs at HHS.
So, the spokeswoman for HHS is a radical anti-abortionist and the overseer of title X doesn't believe contraceptives work, and they both believe abortions cause breast cancer.
Can Duke be far behind? They still have a lot of jobs to fill.

-Doug in Oaklanddinthebeasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12941071534250216503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924773307171301256.post-53485130680217089972017-04-30T16:56:56.402-04:002017-04-30T16:56:56.402-04:00B, I accept your arguement for a larger government...B, I accept your arguement for a larger government!CenterPuke88https://www.blogger.com/profile/17770056621255249861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924773307171301256.post-65267672816403343982017-04-30T16:51:03.240-04:002017-04-30T16:51:03.240-04:00To me, this seems like the standard Reagan/Republi...To me, this seems like the standard Reagan/Republican ploy straight from their playbook.
Step 1 - Appoint someone who is incompetent/anti government.
Step 2 - Under-fund the department.
Step 3 - Wait for said department to stagnate, crumble, and cause problems for the citizenry.
Step 4 - Cry out "THE PROBLEM IS THE GOVERNMENT!!!"
Step 5 - 'Privatize' the department to their cronies, corporate america, or a special interest group that donates the most $$$.
Step 6 - Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

Abraham Lincoln said the government should be "...of the people, by the people, and for the people..."
Guess that doesn't apply any more.

Dale

DTWNDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10874818524204797652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924773307171301256.post-62118560725931859782017-04-30T14:21:20.872-04:002017-04-30T14:21:20.872-04:00The economists I'm reading all say that they a... The economists I'm reading all say that they are going to have a very hard time hitting the growth numbers they are basing their tax plan on while simultaneously restricting immigration, as our workforce isn't replacing itself quickly enough to support that level of growth, and we actually need immigrants to do so.
That's leaving aside the fact that they are "basing" their growth numbers on supply side fantasy bullshit, but it's possible to be wrong in more than one way simultaneously, as they are demonstrating pretty much every day.

-Doug in Oaklanddinthebeasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12941071534250216503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924773307171301256.post-27107852173937024402017-04-30T13:45:49.239-04:002017-04-30T13:45:49.239-04:00I actually think ending governmental participation...I actually think ending governmental participation in programs like "Energy Star" is an excellent idea.

Let the industries themselves? es pay for and maintain the rating agency. Energy star was, as usual, a great idea poorly implemented by the government, rife with controversial decisions and rule exemptions.

The comparison tool is useful, but why should our federal government pay for such ratings, especially when there is no actual testing being done by the feds, but only bureaucratic wastefulness in reporting what the manufacturers say their rating is? Much like the EPA mileage reports, for cars, you cannot believe the numbers anymore, as they are self reported and often incorrect. If the Energy Star did the testing, then you would have a realistic baseline. But they don't and you, as a consumer, can't believe the numbers. So it is really just a waste of bureaucratic salaries.
