Brainworm Bobby Probably Hates This Post; Measles Ed.

Public health experts say there are some adults who should consider getting revaccinated. That includes older adults who were born after 1957 and were vaccinated before 1968.

That's because early versions of the measles vaccine were made from an inactivated (killed) virus, which didn't work particularly well, [Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia] says. That's why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone vaccinated before 1968 get at least one dose of the live attenuated vaccine.

Before the first measles vaccines were developed in the 1960s, nearly everyone got the disease during childhood. So people born before 1957 are assumed to have natural immunity

  1. Good news as a kid I survived measles, and an immunity. That was before a vaccine was widely available. I remember how sick I was
    from it too.

Short form if your not vaccinated your screamingly stupid
    beyond education.

    Eck!

  2. So, I'm good if I had the measles?

  3. My older brother brought home measles from kindergarten in 1963. I lost most of the hearing in one ear. Nobody's going to be able to argue with me that it's a harmless childhood disease.

  4. In my lifetime I've seen what measles , mumps, chicken pox, rubella, and even polio can do. Those have done a lot of damage. Some like chicken pox can reignite in ones later years (shingles) and its nasty.

So bobbybrainworm is a symptom of our pres-nut and they will
    in time kill people.

  5. Got mine today because I fall into the donut hole. My doctor’s office wanted to draw blood and test for antibodies…but couldn’t explain what level of antibodies would be acceptable (I got a 1965 inactivated virus shot, so I may have some low level of antibodies). So I went to CVS, explained why I wanted one and had one in my arm in 10 minutes, and my health plan covered it 100%. Damn, why was it tough, doc?

Also saw a local school celebrating a 17% student vaccination report as the lowest in the State…Jesus wept.

  7. Yes, and how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
